The Origin of the Frontier Chest Pack

Born in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and tested in the backcountry of Alaska, the Frontier Chest Pack was built to solve two problems that show up together on the trail: a more comfortable, practical way to conceal-carry outdoors, and a faster way to reach the gear you actually need first.

A backpack is a poor place for either. When a firearm, trauma kit, or defensive spray is buried in a pack, you lose time you may not have. On the first miles of a hike—especially on busy public trails—you also lose the option to carry discreetly, away from prying or unaccustomed eyes.

Mike, founder of Venture Carry, ran into that gap on longer days in the mountains. Switching to packs with waist belts solved the load, but took away the access and concealment of OWB/IWB holsters. He still wanted a stable, comfortable way to carry a firearm without advertising it, and the same logic applied to everything else that belongs within reach: a trauma kit, first aid kit/medication, bear spray, pepper spray, and even snackies.

Those needs came together in the Frontier Chest Pack—law-enforcement and outdoor experience applied to gear that stays on the body, ready, and out of the way until you need it.

External Features

The exterior of the Frontier Chest Pack features a phone pocket, PALS front panel for MOLLE compatible gear, and nylon loops along the bottom of the pack for further attachments.

The harness is fully adjustable, intentionally minimalist in design, and comes with elastic strap keepers. The Nylon straps are a 1" width to improve comfort and stability.

Conceal Carry Compartment

The Conceal Carry Compartment features a full Velcro back, which allows for maximum firearm placement customization.

The included universal holster is ambidextrous and Velcro backed, allowing for both right hand or left hand draw. The holster includes a safety strap and buckle which was designed with safety in mind, not performance in a quickdraw competition.

Also included is a Velcro extra magazine holder, which you can place wherever suits you best for off hand access for reloads.

Quick access pull tabs are on each corner, to be fed through the zippers, for accessing your firearm quickly with either your left or right hand.

Storage Compartment

The Storage Compartment features a wide array of storage and organization systems to fit any need you may have.

Compatiblity

The full Velcro backing of the conceal carry compartment is designed to fit most semi-automatic handguns from compact to full size. The included holster is compatible with optics and most flashlights. Some light attachments, such as earlier-model Streamlight flashlights with protruding activation switches, may interfere with a smooth draw.

Your entire setup, optics included, should fit within the dimensions shown below. We recommend measuring out the below dimensions on a piece of paper and laying your firearm on it to determine compatibility.
